Cosmic Funk Orchestra |
The
cosmic funk orchestra was originally formed in 2000 by cee knowledge who
recruited the philly grown talents of kai chi, jah-sun, j-truth, jae-meeks
and lauretta gooden. Through our association with farmhouse productions
we met live hip hop jam band "the vybe" whose members include;
frankie may (bass), carlito turner (wind instruments), mike alicknavitch
(guitars), giscard xavier (keyboards) and z-boy on drums. From 2000 to
2001 we toured as a unit all across the country. In 2001, the vybe was
replaced as the back up band by musicians; elliot levin (sax, flute),
mark turner (guitar), rob griffith (bass) giscard xavier (keyboards) and
nax wolfgang (drums). This unit toured together for a couple of months
before being replaced by funk-rock-hip hop band "Swole" based
out of mississippi.
I n the spring of 2002, cee knowledge took a break from the road to reevaluate
band personnel, work on new music and explore other opportunities.
